WinCLD Backup Procedure:
Saving your product mix and cabinet item setup

SUMMARY
Since WinCLD operates in a pretty harsh environment, it is critical that all product mix data and cabinet item setup is backed up to floppy disks at least once a month.
Note: You may want to print this document before continuing with the process.
PROCEDURE
- Clean your diskette drive heads and backup cabinet item setup:
You can obtain a diskette drive head cleaning kit at any office supply store.
 | Prepare the cleaning diskette. This usually involves applying a few drops of cleaning solution to the cleaning diskette. |
| Insert the cleaning diskette into WinCLD's diskette drive. |
| Enter WinCLD manager mode by pressing the 9 key and entering the manager password. |
| Enter the Utilities menu by pressing the 8 key and entering the editing password. |
| Choose item 7 - Backup Menu Item and Cabinet Item Setup to diskette. |
| Press Enter. Drive will spin and clean for about 10 seconds. |
| Press Enter two more times, until drive has cleaned for a total of 30 seconds. |
| Eject the cleaning diskette. |
| Wait 5 minutes for the cleaning solution to dry. |
| Insert a blank diskette labeled "Cabinet Item Backup" and press Enter. |
| When function is complete, press Esc to escape. Disk drive may spin a bit more. |
| Eject the backup diskette. |
| Press Esc repeatedly until you are back at the normal WinCLD screen. |
Note: This procedure will temporarily result in printer error messages on a Panasonic system, so it should only be done during a low volume period.
| Make sure you have at least 3 diskettes for each year you have had your WinCLD. |
| Exit WinCLD program by pressing the Esc key and entering the quitting password. |
| Insert the first backup diskette in WinCLD diskette drive. |
| Choose 2 - SAVE YOUR PRODUCT MIX DATABASE TO DISKETTE(S). |
| Follow instructions on the screen, feeding new diskettes when requested. |
| When you are back at the main menu, choose 1 - RESTART (REBOOT) THE CABINET LEVEL DISPLAY COMPUTER. |
Note: Remember to eject the diskette after completing the backup and before rebooting the computer after the installation. Otherwise, WinCLD will try to boot from the backup diskette.
